What it does for your water
The Calmat 1-6004-000USA Electronic Water Descaler is an electronic descaler that works on the pipe from the outside.
Expect no change on a hardness test. Salt-free units are sold on reducing scale build-up; removing calcium and magnesium takes an ion-exchange softener.
Electronic units need a power outlet near the pipe and work only on the pipe they are wrapped around; the maker lists which pipe materials and diameters suit them.
